Singer Koo Jun-yup (56) opened up about his feelings for the first time in four days after losing his wife, the late Taiwanese top actress Ko (Seo Hee-won, Xuxiyuan, 48).

On the 6th, Koo Jun-yup posted on his Instagram, “On the 2nd, my angel returned to heaven. First, I would like to express my deep gratitude to everyone who mourned Heewon,” and began, “Right now, I am going through a time of indescribable sorrow and pain, as if my intestines are being torn apart.”

He said, “I have no strength to speak and do not want to say anything. But even before the immense pain of loss and the time of mourning have passed, devilish people have started slandering our family and my love,” expressing anger. He continued, “Some pretend to be sad, wandering in the rain, while others are trying to damage our family by creating fake news about insurance and expenses, causing wounds.” He added, “I even feel afraid thinking that such bad people really exist in this world,” and pleaded, “Please, can you stay quiet so that our Heewon can rest in peace? I earnestly ask you.”

He also addressed the inheritance issue of the deceased, which has been mentioned in some circles. Earlier, local Taiwanese media reported that Seo Hee-won’s estate was worth 600 million yuan (120 billion KRW). The Taiwanese legal community predicted that Seo Hee-won’s inheritance would be divided equally into thirds among her two children from her previous marriage and Koo Jun-yup, drawing attention.

In response, Koo Jun-yup said, “All the inheritance left by Heewon was painstakingly gathered during her lifetime to protect the family she loved, so I intend to give all rights concerning me to my mother-in-law,” and added, “Regarding the children’s rights, I plan to take legal measures through lawyers to protect them until they reach adulthood so that bad people cannot interfere.”

He continued, “The time I spent with Heewon was a precious and invaluable gift that cannot be exchanged for anything in the world. I believe that protecting the family Heewon loved most is the last thing I can do,” and added, “Lastly, I bow my head once again to thank everyone who loved and mourned our Heewon.”

Earlier, on the 2nd, Seo Hee-won suddenly passed away due to pneumonia complications caused by the flu while traveling in Japan with her family. According to Liberty Times and others, Koo Jun-yup returned to Taiwan on the 5th, holding his wife’s remains in his arms. Seeing the press gathered at the airport, Koo Jun-yup reportedly asked to be shielded with an umbrella while carrying the urn so as not to startle his wife before getting into the vehicle.

The two also attracted attention with their movie-like love story. Koo Jun-yup and Seo Hee-won met in Taiwan in 1998 and started dating but broke up after a year due to opposition from their agencies and other reasons. Seo Hee-won married conglomerate heir Wang Sobi in 2011 and divorced in 2021. Upon hearing the news, Koo Jun-yup found her number from 20 years ago and contacted her, leading to their dramatic reunion. The couple registered their marriage in Korea on February 8, 2022, and completed the marriage registration in Taiwan on March 28 of the same year.

On February 2, 2025, my angel returned to heaven.

First, I would like to express my deep gratitude to everyone who mourned Heewon.

Right now, I am going through a time of indescribable sorrow and pain, as if my intestines are being torn apart.
I had no strength to speak and did not want to say anything.

But even before the immense pain of loss and the time of mourning have passed, devilish people have started slandering our family and my love. Some pretend to be sad, wandering in the rain, while others are trying to damage our family by creating fake news about insurance and expenses, causing wounds.

I even feel afraid thinking that such bad people really exist in this world.

Please, can you stay quiet so that our Heewon can rest in peace? I earnestly ask you.

And I would like to talk about the precious inheritance Heewon left behind.

All of that inheritance was painstakingly gathered during her lifetime to protect the family she loved, so I intend to give all rights concerning me to my mother-in-law.

Regarding the children’s rights, I plan to take legal measures through lawyers to protect them until they reach adulthood so that bad people cannot interfere.

The time I spent with Heewon was a precious and invaluable gift that cannot be exchanged for anything in the world.

I believe that protecting the family Heewon loved most is the last thing I can do.

Lastly, I bow my head once again to thank everyone who loved and mourned our Heewon.

- Junjun, Heewon’s eternal love -
