This moon viewing event will open with an exciting street performance by local artists’ pungmul troupe. The street performance starts at Dobong-gu Office Square and continues to Jungnangcheon, where the main event will be held, lasting about 20 minutes from 5:40 PM.
From 6 PM, a congratulatory performance will take place at the main event site. The stage will feature the ‘Mirme Taekwondo Demonstration Team’ and a large drum performance by ‘Joheun Chingudeul’ (Good Friends).
Following this, the highlight of the event, ‘Daljip Burning’ and ‘Fireworks,’ will be held. During ‘Daljip Burning,’ the wishes written by residents earlier will be burned together with the daljip (moon house), symbolizing everyone’s collective prayer for a peaceful new year.
The festival will conclude with a ‘Fireworks’ display. For about 7 minutes, spectacular fireworks will decorate the sky over Jungnangcheon.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “I hope everyone comes to the moon viewing event to send away last year’s misfortunes with the daljip and bring in abundant luck like the bright full moon of Jeongwol Daeboreum. We will do our best to prepare for a safe event.”
Meanwhile, from February 11, one day before the festival, a wish-writing event will be held. Residents who want to hang their wish papers on the daljip can visit the event site by Jungnangcheon Stream on February 11?12, write their wishes at the wish-writing booth, and hang them on the daljip.
Gwanak-gu Calls for Stores to Participate in the ‘2025 Alleyway Commercial Core Store Support Project’
Applications open until February 28... Targeting small business stores operating for over one year with unique content and fewer than five employees
This year, participation is expanded to all alleyway commercial stores in Gwanak-gu... Recruiting 8 stores
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) is promoting the ‘Alleyway Commercial Core Store Support Project’ to strengthen the capabilities of small business owners through customized consulting, aiming to overcome difficult times and revitalize commercial districts.
‘Core stores’ refer to stores that attract customers in shopping areas or malls. The district is discovering and nurturing stores with potential to lead to the revitalization of alleyway commercial districts through the ‘Gwanak-gu Alleyway Commercial Core Store Support Project.’
The district supports comprehensive store capability enhancement so that core stores can serve as focal points for commercial district revitalization, including ▲development of store content such as signature menus ▲production and promotion of SNS promotional content ▲facility environment improvement ▲management consulting.
The support targets eight small business stores with fewer than five employees that have been operating for over one year. These stores must have unique content (▲menu ▲store atmosphere/interior ▲various items ▲services, etc.) and show growth potential as store-type businesses. However, ▲franchises ▲chain stores ▲businesses restricted from small business policy fund loans are excluded from selection.
Notably, while previously only stores located in the top 10 major alleyway commercial districts could apply, this year the application scope has been expanded to include small business stores located in alleyway commercial districts within the region (stores located in ‘alleyway commercial districts’ according to Seoul’s commercial district analysis service) to support a wider variety of stores.
Small business owners wishing to participate must apply by February 28.
To apply, bring the required documents including ▲application form ▲eligibility confirmation ▲personal information consent form ▲lease contract ▲representative’s resident registration abstract ▲business registration certificate, and submit them in person at the 4th floor Regional Commercial Revitalization Division of Gwanak-gu Office or at each community service center, or send them via email to the person in charge.
Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, said, “Through the core store support project, we aim to discover and nurture distinctive small business stores to revive the stagnant alleyway commercial districts. We will continue to develop and operate various projects to strengthen the brand competitiveness of small business owners and do our best to revitalize the local economy.”
