Gwangju Bank (President Go Byungil) announced on the 6th that it has delivered a scholarship fund of 20 million KRW to the Gwangju Hanmaeum Scholarship Foundation to support youth under suspended indictment with leading conditions and exemplary students from low-income families.


The scholarship delivery ceremony, held at the Gwangju District Prosecutors’ Office on the 5th, was attended by Kim Jaechun, Deputy President of Gwangju Bank’s Business Division 1, Lee Jonghyuk, Chief Prosecutor of the Gwangju District Prosecutors’ Office, Han Sangwon, Chairman of the Foundation, and others.


The scholarship funds delivered on this day are planned to actively support youth under suspended indictment so that they do not lose hope and can pursue their dreams despite difficult circumstances.


Gwangju Bank considers delivering hope to local youth as an important mission as a member of the local community, and has provided a total of 140 million KRW in scholarships to the foundation from 2018 to this year.


In addition, through the Gwangju Bank Scholarship Foundation, the bank has continuously supported local children and youth by providing scholarships totaling approximately 3.9 billion KRW to over 4,600 local scholarship recipients.


Kim Jaechun, Deputy President of Business Division 1, said, “Gwangju Bank will continue to actively support the youth who will lead the future of our region so that everyone can dream of a hopeful future.”
