Declaration to Process Bill in Welfare Subcommittee in Third Week of February
"If People Power Party Delays, Will Proceed by Other Means"
Park Jumin, Chair of the National Assembly Health and Welfare Committee (affiliated with the Democratic Party), stated, "We will pass the amendment to the National Pension Act for parametric reform within February."
Chair Park said in a statement on the day, "We plan to hold a subcommittee meeting of the Welfare Committee in the third week of February to review the bill, and then discuss the schedule to process it at the plenary session. If the People Power Party tries to delay the bill review, we intend to review and process it by other means," he said.

This is interpreted as expressing opposition to discussions following the formation of a special pension reform committee as proposed by the People Power Party and others.
He said, "During the 21st National Assembly, the pension special committee operated for 1 year and 10 months, and parametric reform reached the threshold of bipartisan agreement. In the 22nd National Assembly, dozens of related bills were proposed, and public hearings were held in the Welfare Committee," adding, "Let's not waste any more time."
Chair Park stated, "Pension reform must be done now if it can be done," and emphasized, "Structural reform is not a tool to obstruct parametric reform. Pension reform can no longer be delayed."
