Praised for Resolving and Preventing Grievances
Gochang County, Jeonbuk Province, announced on the 6th that it has been selected as an 'Excellent Institution' in the '2024 Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation' released by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
The comprehensive civil service evaluation, conducted for 307 public institutions nationwide, assessed three areas: ▲Civil Administration Management ▲Civil Administration Activities ▲Civil Service Performance (5 categories, 20 indicators).
This is an improvement of two grades compared to last year's (2023) evaluation results, and is being recognized as a reflection of the strong commitment of Gochang County Governor Shim Deokseop during the 8th popularly elected administration.
In this evaluation, the county received perfect scores in the areas of protecting vulnerable groups and staff in civil service, providing civil information and operating civil legislation, and efforts to resolve and prevent grievances.
In particular, the county received high praise for its meticulous consideration to improve satisfaction for both civil servants handling complaints and the citizens using the services.
Taking into account the increasing number of multicultural residents and foreign seasonal workers in the region, the county prepared and distributed various civil service forms in foreign languages. Since July last year, all fees for issuing documents through unmanned civil service kiosks (8 units) have been made completely free, resulting in a significant increase in usage during evenings and holidays.
Additionally, the county established and implemented regulations for the operation of the civil service office to guarantee lunch breaks for staff, held meetings between civil servants and Governor Shim Deokseop, and made efforts to boost morale by selecting and awarding outstanding civil servants in the National Sinmungo and civil service processing fields.
Governor Shim Deokseop stated, "All public officials are doing their best to ensure that visitors to the county office can complete their business easily and comfortably," and added, "We will continue to provide kind and considerate administrative services by listening attentively to the needs of our citizens."
