The Criminal Division 2 of the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Chu Hye-yoon) announced on the 5th that Moon was indicted without detention on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving) and the Public Health Control Act.

The prosecution explained, "We considered the fact that the defendant caused a traffic accident due to drunk driving, the long duration of operating an unreported lodging business, and the large amount of profit obtained from it."

On the early morning of October 5 last year, Moon caused an accident by colliding with a taxi while changing lanes in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. According to the police's alcohol test, Moon's blood alcohol concentration was 0.149%, which is at the level of license cancellation.

However, the prosecution did not apply charges such as violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (dangerous driving causing injury). The police had decided not to prosecute, and the prosecution judged that it was difficult to recognize the charges.

Meanwhile, Moon is also accused of illegally operating a lodging business at an officetel she owns in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and a villa located in Yangpyeong-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, which she purchased in 2021.
