Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Acting Superintendent Choi Yoon-hong) will announce the regular personnel appointments effective March 1 for a total of 3,299 teachers, including 13 public senior teachers and 3,286 teachers from kindergartens, elementary, middle, and special schools, at 2 p.m. on the 5th.
The number of personnel by school level is 6 senior teachers in elementary and 7 in middle schools, and teachers include 153 in kindergartens, 1,833 in elementary schools, 1,217 in middle schools, and 83 in special schools.
Teachers who are transferred through this personnel appointment will participate in the “February New School Year Joint Preparation Month” intensive operation period at their newly assigned schools. Through this, schools at all levels will be able to establish systematic educational plans and operate the new school year curriculum more solidly and stably.
For elementary schools, this year marks the first implementation of transfers using the 4th generation intelligent NAIS system to enhance the reliability and accuracy of teacher transfers. Additionally, by implementing a personnel system that considers local educational conditions, the number of allowed consecutive transfers between schools to promote rural education has been expanded up to three times, striving to implement a rational transfer system highly suitable for the field.
For middle schools, one teacher per school is allowed to postpone transfer upon the principal’s recommendation, and the expanded teacher recruitment scope in the Western Busan area is maintained to ensure stable operation of the school curriculum. Furthermore, the criteria for creating the ranking list of transfer candidates between education support offices have been revised to activate rotational assignments.
Acting Superintendent Choi Yoon-hong said, “This personnel appointment was conducted transparently and rationally by reflecting field opinions so that teachers can focus on educational activities to cultivate students’ future competencies. We will continue to strive to improve the trust in the teacher personnel system through ongoing communication and empathy with field teachers.”
Personnel appointments for kindergarten principals and vice principals, elementary, middle, and special school principals and vice principals, as well as educational professional staff and administrative positions, will be announced at 2 p.m. on the 7th.
