Raised 918.36 Million KRW,
Exceeding the Target by 95.36 Million KRW
Yeongju City, Gyeongbuk Province (Mayor Park Nam-seo) announced on the 5th that it raised 918.36 million KRW, surpassing the target amount of 823 million KRW in the ‘Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign,’ achieving 111.6% of the goal.
The ‘Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign’ is a year-end and New Year neighbor-helping campaign organized by the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea. It was conducted from December 1 of last year to January 31 of this year under the slogan “Make myself valuable through donation, make Yeongju valuable through donation.”
The city analyzed that this achievement was the result of various citizens, institutions, and organizations participating with one heart and mind, including toddlers who saved piggy banks to donate, seniors who saved their disability pensions to donate, and business owners who donated to Yeongju where their parents reside.
The 804 million KRW raised by citizens, companies, institutions, and social organizations will be used for various welfare projects to help neighbors in need, such as warm winter support projects, emergency support projects, and medical vulnerable group support projects through the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea. Additionally, 114.36 million KRW worth of in-kind donations were evenly distributed to local social welfare facilities through the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea.
Yeongju City was selected as an outstanding local government in the ‘Hope 2024 Sharing Campaign’ and received a plaque of commendation and 20 million KRW in project funds from the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea in November last year.
Mayor Park Nam-seo said, “Thanks to the citizens who practiced warm sharing despite the difficult economic conditions, we were able to exceed the target amount,” and added, “I sincerely thank the citizens, organizations, companies, and institutions who participated in the sharing campaign, and we will do our best to ensure that the precious donations are well delivered to neighbors in need.”
