Singer Song Ga-in and Traditional Music Group Uri Sori Baraji Present a Modern Interpretation of Korean Traditional Music
Free Concert by Lottery, Up to Two Tickets Per Person
Applications Accepted On-site (until February 9) and Online (until February 13) Starting February 4
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) will welcome early spring by hosting the New Year's Concert "Gwanak Hwacheong (和唱)" at Gwanak Art Hall on February 19.
This event will feature popular trot singer Song Ga-in and the talented traditional Korean music group "Uri Sori Baraji" performing together on stage.
Earlier, at the New Year's Meeting held on January 16, the district announced "Creating a City Shining with Education and Culture" as one of its 2025 administrative tasks.
Accordingly, through "Gwanak Hwacheong," the district will present a high-quality performance that combines artistry and popularity, marking the first step toward the vision of Gwanak as a cultural and arts city.
With the meaning of "singing together in harmony (和唱)," the plan is to sing new year wishes and create a space for unity with residents who have welcomed 2025 amid difficult times.
This performance can be viewed for free through a lottery. Applications are open to residents living in Gwanak-gu, and those wishing to attend can apply both on-site and online.
On-site applications will be accepted from February 4 to 9 at eight district libraries (▲Gwanak Central Library ▲Nakseongdae Park Library ▲Geulbitjeongdo Library ▲Seonghyeon Small Library ▲Euncheon Small Library ▲Thank You Hanangok Small Library ▲Jowon Library ▲Yongkkumkkuneun Small Library).
Online applications will be accepted from February 4 to 13 on the Gwanak Cultural Foundation website.
Each person can apply for up to two tickets. The district will conduct a random draw among applicants and notify the results individually. Ticket transfer, resale, and proxy receipt are prohibited.
For more information about Gwanak Hwacheong, visit the Gwanak Cultural Foundation website or contact the Arts Promotion Team of the Gwanak Cultural Foundation.
Gwanak Art Hall is the only public performance venue representing the southwestern area of Seoul. Notably, last October, the district created an "Art Walk" connecting Gwanak Art Hall with Gwanaksan Euddeum Park, enhancing the quality and accessibility of cultural and artistic enjoyment for residents.
At Gwanak Art Hall, prestigious performances such as the New Year's Concert by the Vienna Boys' Choir and the opera "La Boh?me" have been presented annually. Additionally, collaborations with excellent cultural and artistic groups like the "Yoo Jae-ha Music Competition Alumni Association" and the theater troupe "Run to Death" have established it as a "Gwanak-style cultural and arts hub."
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, "This performance is free for residents to welcome the new year, and it is especially meaningful in supporting cultural and artistic experiences for vulnerable groups. Through the New Year's Concert 'Gwanak Hwacheong,' I hope residents who have endured a difficult year find great comfort and spend time singing a hopeful new year together."
