Changes Including Increase in Examinees and Mandatory Reflection of School Violence Measures in College Admissions

The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's Education Information Research Institute will hold a real-time online briefing session to prepare for the 2026 college entrance examination.
The Seoul Education Information Research Institute announced on the 4th that it will conduct a real-time college entrance briefing session on the YouTube channel 'Seoul Education SssemTV' starting at 5 p.m. on the 12th.
The 2026 college entrance exam will take place amid various changes, including an increase in the number of examinees, mandatory reflection of school violence measures in the admission process, and the expansion of the major autonomy selection system.
This briefing session, aimed at high school seniors and their parents, will offer a total of two lectures, including 'Understanding and Preparing for the 2026 Early Admission' and 'Understanding and Preparing for the 2026 Regular Admission.'
For students and parents who cannot attend the briefing, edited lecture videos will be available on the Seoul Career and College Information Center and Seoul Education SssemTV on the 14th.
To help teachers and parents understand the 2026 college entrance exam and provide guidance, a college guidance booklet containing analysis of the 2025 entrance results, features of the 2026 entrance exam, and analysis by admission type will also be provided. The booklet will be distributed to high schools within Seoul by the 7th and will also be produced in e-book format.
Jung Geun-sik, Superintendent of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "Through various career and college entrance information such as the 2026 entrance exam preparation briefing, teacher video materials, and college guidance booklets, we will help students independently plan their career paths and college entrance, and reduce private education expenses."
