Korea Creative Content Agency Establishes New Business Centers in Brazil and Spain
Expanding Overseas Support for Domestic Content Companies

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 4th that they have established business centers to support domestic content companies' entry into overseas markets in Brazil and Spain.

The Brazil Business Center, the third to be established in Latin America following Mexico and Argentina, held its opening ceremony in S?o Paulo on the 23rd of last month and has begun full-scale operations. It plans to serve as a strategic hub for K-content expansion and industry cooperation in the Brazilian content market, which is valued at $31.5 billion (45.9648 trillion KRW as of 2023). At the opening ceremony, the Korea Creative Content Agency signed a memorandum of understanding with the S?o Paulo Institute of Arts and Culture (ISPAC) to promote the hosting of a 'K-Drama Festival.'


The Spain Business Center opened in Madrid on the 24th of the same month. Spain wields significant influence in the global content industry, based on a Spanish-speaking market of over 400 million people. The Korea Creative Content Agency aims to encourage the entry of K-content into Western Europe and Latin America through close cooperation with local partners. Jang Mi-ran, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, who attended the opening ceremony, said, "I hope the business centers will serve as bridges to turn interest in K-content into actual exports."

Including the two newly opened centers, the Korea Creative Content Agency currently operates twenty-five business centers and plans to open five more within the year. An official stated, "We plan to operate thirty overseas bases this year," adding, "Through overseas bases by country and region, we will serve as a platform to support domestic content companies needing assistance with overseas expansion."
