The city carried out the campaign under the slogan "Make Myself Valuable Through Donation! Make Hwaseong Valuable Through Donation!" in collaboration with the Hwaseong Welfare Foundation and the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea to promote a culture of sharing and help citizens in crisis achieve self-reliance.
The city installed a 'Love Thermometer' in the city hall lobby, setting a target amount of 1.3 billion KRW, and raised the temperature by one degree each time a donation was made. As of the end of January, the total donations exceeded 1.5 billion KRW, reaching 120 degrees. The funds will be used for emergency welfare projects and other purposes.
Jung Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "I thank the citizens who practiced love for their neighbors even in difficult times," and added, "We will ensure that the donations collected through the campaign are used where they are most needed."
