"Surpassed Dubai Chocolate"... Sweetmix Jelly Breaks Record with 2 Million Units Sold in Shortest Time Ever

‘Sweet Mix Jelly’ by GS25 Sells 2 Million Units in Just 68 Days
Outpaces Shin Ramyun and Buldak Bokkeum Myun in Processed Food Sales

Convenience store GS25 announced on the 4th that its ‘Sweet Mix Jelly,’ launched in November last year, surpassed 2 million cumulative sales within 68 days of its release. This is more than a week faster than the previous shortest sales record set by Dubai Chocolate.

Sweet Mix Jelly is a jelly product planned and introduced by GS25 on November 28 last year in the Swedish jelly style. Swedish jelly is a food product made from natural ingredients and plant-based gelatin, reflecting consumer trends seeking healthy and ethical consumption.

Sweet Mix Jelly by GS25 surpassed 1 million cumulative sales in just 39 days, the shortest period ever among jelly and chocolate products, and then sold an additional 1 million units by the 29th of last month, reaching a total of 2 million cumulative sales. This was achieved within 68 days of its launch.

Sweet Mix Jelly not only topped jelly sales but also ranked first in overall processed food sales. The processed food category includes best-selling convenience store items such as ramen, snacks, and instant foods.

This is the first time a jelly product has recorded the highest sales, surpassing mega-hit products like Shin Ramyun and Buldak Bokkeum Myun.

GS25 expects the sales gap to widen further as special seasons for jelly and chocolate products, such as Valentine’s Day and White Day, come into full swing.

Going forward, GS25 plans to maximize sales by launching Sweet Mix Jelly Part 2. The second edition, released on the 4th, is a collaboration product with creator ‘Jyeon Unni,’ who sparked the Swedish jelly craze in Korea. With pre-release purchase inquiries flooding in following the collaboration announcement, GS25 expects Sweet Mix Jelly Part 2 to surpass the popularity of the first edition.

Lee Jin-woo, MD of processed foods at GS25, said, "Unlike recent consumer trends where hit products peak quickly and then decline due to shorter product life cycles, Sweet Mix Jelly continues to break its own sales records, showing exceptional sales data. Building on this success, we plan to sequentially introduce a differentiated product lineup of jellies, candies, chocolates, and more, which have been difficult to find in Korea, throughout this year."
