Continuing Support for Vulnerable Groups for 23 Years
Thanks to the District Office-Hotel Shilla Partnership
Kim Mo (male, 68), who lives in Sindang 5-dong, was experiencing eating disorders and daily life inconveniences due to damaged dentures. Unable to afford new dentures, Kim was supported to create new dentures through a 2 million won sponsorship from Hotel Shilla.
Jung-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Kim Gil-seong) and Hotel Shilla have joined hands for 23 years to continue support for vulnerable groups. The district announced on the 4th that it signed a 'Crisis Situation Resolution Project' agreement with Hotel Shilla on the 3rd to help neighbors in need.
Through the agreement, Hotel Shilla will donate a total of 54.6 million won this year and plans to provide steady monthly support of 4.55 million won. The district will identify households in crisis and connect them with necessary support.

Hotel Shilla's sharing began in 2003. The total amount donated so far reaches 977.59 million won, making it the company that has donated the most in Jung-gu. Last year, through Hotel Shilla's support, more than 50 million won was provided to low-income vulnerable groups, low-income students, and emergency crisis families.
At the agreement ceremony, Kim Jun-hwan, Vice President of Hotel Shilla, said, "We consider it especially meaningful as it is sharing for the neighbors in need in Jung-gu, where our hotel is located," and added, "We will continue to fulfill our corporate social responsibility through sustainable sharing."
District Mayor Kim Gil-seong said, "We deeply appreciate Hotel Shilla for actively helping to eliminate welfare blind spots in the local community," and added, "We hope you will continue to play the role of a reliable supporter of Jung-gu residents together with Jung-gu."
