Hold ICT Solution Idea Contest and Sign MOU for Global Exchange
The Dong-Eui University Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center (Director Jeong Seok-chan) is operating a global technology exchange project with the National University of Laos.
On January 17, Dong-Eui University announced on the 3rd that it jointly hosted and held an awards ceremony for the ‘National University of Laos ICT Solution Idea Contest’ together with the National University of Laos, KOICA Laos Center, and Maeil Business Newspaper as part of a project to promote global technology exchange in Laos.
With the theme of ‘IT solutions that can promote digital transformation of companies,’ a total of 24 student teams from the National University of Laos participated in this contest, and 10 teams advanced to the finals. The final prizes were 3 million kip for first place, 2 million kip for second place, and 1 million kip for third place.
On the same day, the Dong-Eui University Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center and the National University of Laos signed an MOU to activate research and human exchange, attended by Director Jeong Seok-chan and Professor Tha BOUNTHANH of the Department of Computer Engineering and Information Technology at the National University of Laos.
The two institutions agreed to cooperate on △ strengthening international academic collaboration △ conducting joint research projects △ supporting internships and exchange students △ industry-academia cooperation and workforce development between universities and companies.
Director Jeong Seok-chan of the Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center said, “I was impressed by the passion of the participants in the ICT solution contest and hope they grow into ICT experts in Laos,” adding, “We will activate international exchange through this agreement, including conducting practical Korea-Laos international cooperation projects using KOICA’s official development assistance programs.”
The Dong-Eui University Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center is carrying out the project with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP) under the ‘Regional Intelligent Innovation Talent Development Project.’
The Dong-Eui University Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center has signed an agreement with the National University of Laos.
