Special Exhibition by Artist Hwang Seungyeon Until the 6th of Next Month
Over 30 Character Sculptures Made with FRP
Haenam County in Jeonnam Province (Governor Myung Hyun-gwan) announced on the 3rd that a special exhibition titled "My Dinosaurs Playing in Everyday Life" by artist Hwang Seungyeon will be held at the special exhibition hall of the Haenam Dinosaur Museum.
Artist Hwang Seungyeon is known as a dinosaur enthusiast who has loved dinosaurs since childhood. Imagining a world where dinosaurs have not gone extinct and live among us in modern daily life, the artist created character sculptures. Over 30 character sculptures made using FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic) show that dinosaurs are not simply beings of the past, but can also be familiar companions in our everyday lives.

Characterized by soft curves and bright colors, these dinosaur sculptures evoke a sense of innocence and warmth in viewers. Dinosaurs of various species, such as a Stegosaurus flaunting its crest and an Ankylosaurus defending itself with its decorated spikes, are depicted adapting to modern daily life in their own ways, making dinosaurs feel even more relatable.
This exhibition breaks away from the traditional image of dinosaurs as massive and majestic creatures, instead presenting familiar and charming character sculptures that invite children and family visitors into a world full of the innocence of dinosaurs.
A county official stated, "The artist expresses her love for dinosaurs through her work, offering a fresh perspective that sees dinosaurs as companions in our lives. We expect this to be a meaningful experience for children and family visitors."
The exhibition will be held at the special exhibition hall of the Haenam Dinosaur Museum until the 6th of next month.
