Gyeongbuk Province held the ‘Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign Closing Ceremony’ at 2 p.m. on the 3rd in front of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office, attended by Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk, Jeon Woo-heon, Chairman of the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea, and other officials, to celebrate the successful conclusion of the fundraising campaign.
The Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign surpassed 20 billion KRW for the first time since the beginning of neighbor-helping campaigns, achieving a record-breaking total donation amount of 21.3 billion KRW and reaching a Love Temperature of 121 degrees, the highest ever.
The campaign set a fundraising goal of 17.67 billion KRW and was conducted over a total of 62 days from December 1 of last year to January 31 of this year.
This achievement is especially meaningful as it was made possible by the active participation of Gyeongbuk residents in donations despite the difficult economic situation, once again demonstrating the spirit of sharing in Gyeongbuk.
In particular, unlike other regions, individual donations accounted for more than half of the total fundraising amount in Gyeongbuk, proving its reputation as a ‘hometown of sharing.’
Jeon Woo-heon, Chairman of the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea, said, “We deeply thank all the residents who participated in spreading the culture of sharing,” and added, “We will do our best to deliver great hope to the underprivileged neighbors in Gyeongbuk through the collected donations.”
Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk, said, “Achieving the Love Temperature of 100 degrees early and surpassing 20 billion KRW for the first time is all thanks to the residents of Gyeongbuk,” and added, “I hope the donations will provide practical help, warm comfort, and strength to those in need.”
Meanwhile, the donations collected in this campaign will be used in various areas such as living expenses support, medical expense support, and welfare facility improvements for vulnerable groups and welfare blind spots within Gyeongbuk. Through this, the virtuous cycle of sharing within the region will be further strengthened, and welfare benefits that residents can feel will be supported.
