According to Yonhap News, citing Nihon Keizai Shimbun and others, Sony Group announced an executive reshuffle on the day, appointing President Totoki to concurrently serve as CEO.

Current Chairman and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida (65) is expected to focus solely on his role as chairman.

This CEO change at Sony Group is the first in seven years. Sony Group told foreign media, "We plan to concentrate authority in President Totoki to promote a growth strategy centered on entertainment."

Newly appointed CEO Totoki graduated from Waseda University in 1987 and joined Sony, mainly working in the finance sector. He led the founding of Sony Bank in 2001. He assumed the current president position in 2023 and concurrently serves as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
