The event was organized to directly experience the rising prices of groceries that are causing difficulties for citizens and to listen to and encourage the concerns of traditional market merchants on-site.
Additionally, the items purchased by Guri City, the Guri Traditional Market Merchants Association, and the Guri City Entrepreneurs Association during the event will be delivered to vulnerable groups through the Guri Traditional Market Merchants Association.
Mayor Baek Gyeong-hyun of Guri City said, “I hope citizens will purchase ritual items at Guri Traditional Market, which is filled with delicious food and warm affection for the Lunar New Year, and support the revitalization of traditional markets by using Onnuri gift certificates and Guri Love Cards. We have prepared various programs and abundant discount benefits for this Lunar New Year holiday, so we ask for your great interest and participation.”
Meanwhile, the Guri Love Card offers a 10% incentive in January and can be recharged up to a limit of 800,000 KRW per person per month.
Furthermore, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups is promoting a digital (card/mobile) discount (15%) and refund event (up to 15%) at traditional markets nationwide from the 10th of last month until the 10th of next month to alleviate price burdens. Purchases made at traditional markets (by card, mobile, or cash receipt) are eligible for a 40% income deduction benefit.
