On the 15th, the KOSPI gave up the 2500 mark just before the market closed due to net selling by institutions.
The KOSPI closed at 2496.81, down 0.02% (0.59 points) from the previous day. The index opened at 2511.07, up 0.55% (13.67 points) from the previous close.
Individuals and foreigners were net buyers of 120 billion KRW and 49.2 billion KRW respectively. However, institutions sold a net 256.2 billion KRW, pulling the index down in the final moments. In the futures market, only foreigners sold, offloading 353.2 billion KRW. Individuals and institutions bought 88.1 billion KRW and 237.6 billion KRW respectively.
The top 10 stocks by market capitalization ended mixed. NAVER rose 2.23%, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries increased 1.78%, and SK Hynix gained 1.64%. On the other hand, Kia fell 3.19%, Celltrion dropped 2.06%, and LG Energy Solution declined 1.82%.
The KOSDAQ closed at 711.61, down 0.90% (6.43 points) from the previous day. It opened at 722.16, up 0.57% (4.12 points) from the previous close. Individuals and institutions were net buyers of 181.2 billion KRW and 5.7 billion KRW respectively, while foreigners were net sellers of 177.8 billion KRW.
Among the top 10 stocks by market capitalization, HLB fell 5.92%, Samchundang Pharmaceutical dropped 4.04%, Enchem declined 3.43%, and Rainbow Robotics decreased 3.21%.
