Korea Western Power discussed safety innovation measures with partner companies to prevent serious accidents and rewarded companies and employees who achieved outstanding results in safety and quality.
On the 14th, Korea Western Power held the Safety Innovation Council and the Safety and Mutual Growth Festival at its headquarters in Taean, Chungnam. The event was attended by over 80 people, including CEO Lee Jeongbok of Korea Western Power, representatives of partner companies, and employee representatives.
Korea Western Power holds the annual Safety Innovation Council with partner companies to discuss safety issues and innovation measures for the prevention of serious accidents, and also hosts the Safety and Mutual Growth Festival to reward companies and employees with excellent safety and quality capabilities.
During the Safety Innovation Council, the evaluation results of the "WP-Safety Rating System," which Korea Western Power conducts for its 25 on-site partner companies, were announced.
The "WP-Safety Rating System" is a support program for partner companies introduced in 2021, which diagnoses the safety level of partners and helps them establish their own safety culture through consulting and other support.
The evaluation results showed that 13 companies received Grade 2 (Good), 11 companies received Grade 3 (Average), and 1 company received Grade 4 (Insufficient). No company received Grade 5 (Very Vulnerable).
Nine partner companies saw their ratings improve compared to the previous year, while one company saw a decline. This significant improvement in ratings is the result of Korea Western Power's management visiting all partner companies at worksites to emphasize safety and promote on-site improvements.
At the subsequent Safety and Quality Mutual Growth Festival, Korea Western Power presented plaques and prize money (a total of 24 million KRW) to 11 partner companies and 11 employees who stood out in the safety and quality sector last year.
Lee Jeongbok, CEO of Korea Western Power, said, "I would like to express my gratitude to the partner companies that contributed the most to achieving accident-free worksites," adding, "We will continue to communicate regularly with our partners and actively reflect the voices from the field in the process of improving serious accident prevention systems."
