Publication of a Poetry Collection Singing the Nine Scenic Spots of Sacheon in Classical Chinese Poems

A poetry collection singing the nine scenic views of Sacheon, a representative tourist attraction in Sacheon, Gyeongnam, has been published.

Sacheon Hyanggyo announced on the 13th that it held a publication commemorative event for the 'Sacheon 9 Gyeong Hanshi Collection' organized by the Sacheon Guam Hanshi Association, attended by Mayor Park Dongsik, local institution heads, and Confucian scholars at the auditorium of the Character Education Center.

This 'Sacheon 9 Gyeong Hanshi Collection' is the 8th volume of Sacheon Hanshi, compiling poems sung by members of the Sacheon Hyanggyo Guam Hanshi Association, which started in 2017, celebrating the scenic beauty of Sacheon's nine views into one book.

It was published not only to simply organize members' works but also to promote the scenic beauty of Sacheon's nine views nationwide.

In particular, through this publication commemorative event, it is expected to enhance understanding of Hanshi, feel the elegance of ancestors, and elevate the status of the Sacheon Guamje National Hanshi Contest.

The Sacheon Hyanggyo Guam Hanshi Association holds Hanshi poetry meetings 3 to 4 times a year with senior Confucian scholars in the area, gathering passionate poems and publishing a poetry collection annually.

Former Principal Shin Hyungwon said, "The passion of members who uphold the great will of Master Lee Jeongseon of Guam and aim to revive classical culture has led to the publication of the 8th volume of Sacheon Hanshi," adding, "I hope the nine scenic views of Sacheon, reborn through Hanshi, will establish themselves as a nationwide tourist attraction."
