and Manual Maintenance

Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 7th that it will strengthen its disaster response system by assigning dedicated personnel and operating the Disaster Safety Situation Room 24/7 year-round starting this year.

Previously, during the daytime, the Safety General Division handled disaster situations, while on nights and holidays, on-duty public officials took over disaster duty. However, from this year, specialized dedicated personnel will be fully responsible for disaster response duties in the Disaster Safety Situation Room 24 hours a day.

The Disaster Safety Situation Room shares information with related agencies such as the police and fire departments through the National Disaster Management System (NDMS) and the National Disaster Safety Communication Network (PS-LTE), collecting and identifying disaster-related information within the region. In the event of a disaster, it quickly assesses and disseminates on-site situations and mobilizes personnel from disaster recovery departments to carry out systematic disaster response operations.

Additionally, the Disaster Safety Situation Room operates together with the CCTV Control Center to enable rapid disaster situation assessment and support situation management through CCTV. Control personnel assist the situation room staff during disasters to facilitate efficient response.

County Governor Gu In-mo stated, “With the 24-hour continuous operation of the Disaster Safety Situation Room, disaster response expertise has been significantly enhanced, enabling swift and systematic responses.” He added, “We will continue to prioritize the lives and safety of our residents, strengthen cooperation with related agencies, establish a flawless disaster management system, and further enhance disaster response capabilities.”
