Hwang In, the newly appointed chief of the Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station for the 21st National Assembly, visited a traditional market instead of holding an inauguration ceremony. Chief Hwang visited Malbau Market in Gwangju the previous day to listen to the concerns of merchants and inspect various fire safety facilities. He also urged fire safety awareness in preparation for the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday. Chief Hwang was born in Wando, Jeonnam, and began his public service career as a firefighter in 1995. He has served as the director of the Gwangju Bitgoeul Experience Center and as the head of the Fire Administration Division at the Gwangju Fire Safety Headquarters.
