A Statistics Korea official explained, "Although the growth in online shopping transaction volume slowed down after July and August due to the T-Mef (Timon and Wemakeprice) incident, it continued to increase, resulting in the record high this time." He added, "Clothing was greatly influenced by the Korea Sale Festa held last November at the largest scale ever. Weather also played a role; since the weather was warm this fall, demand shifted directly from transitional season clothing to winter clothing, which seems to be reflected in the data."
Among online shopping, mobile shopping transaction volume increased by 3.8% (576.6 billion won) to 15.9479 trillion won, and its share of transaction volume rose by 1.9 percentage points to 75.1% compared to the same month of the previous year.
