At the 8th meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH) held at the Government Complex Seoul on the same day, Acting President Choi said, "The difficulties of the bereaved families, who have no choice but to put their livelihoods on hold during the mourning process, are likely increasing." He also announced that additional government support measures for the bereaved families are under consideration.

Referring to the funeral of the victims, he explained, "The Ministry of Health and Welfare and local governments plan to closely monitor supply and demand situations to ensure that even if funerals are concentrated at one time according to the wishes of the bereaved families, there will be no inconvenience in using funeral halls and crematories."
Acting President Choi emphasized, "Through the integrated support center at the Muan site, various services such as funeral arrangements, accommodation, legal assistance, insurance, and psychological stability are being provided, and although about 30 institutions have dispatched personnel who are doing their best, the bereaved families may still feel that it is insufficient.
