Korea Productivity Center Announces Vision as a 'World-Class Productivity Innovation Institution'

Reestablishing Vision for Change and Innovation in the Era of Productivity Transformation

The Korea Productivity Center (KPC) announced on the 3rd that it has declared a new vision as a "World-Class Productivity Innovation Institution" and unveiled a mid- to long-term development strategy to realize this vision, aiming to re-leap as a leading institution in productivity innovation.

Park Sung-jung, Chairman of the Korea Productivity Center, is presenting a new vision and mid-to-long-term development strategy to the executives and employees.

KPC explained that it proactively redefined its vision based on a consensus that change and innovation are necessary to enhance South Korea's competitiveness and organizational growth during this period of productivity transformation. Park Seong-jung KPC Chairman stated, “Currently, South Korea’s productivity ranks 28th among 38 OECD countries and has been stagnant for a long time. Moreover, in an era where productivity is undergoing major changes due to robots, AI, and big data, we must carefully consider new alternatives to improve productivity,” adding, “The Productivity Center will redefine the concept of productivity and propose alternatives to leap forward as a ‘World-Class Productivity Innovation Institution.’”

KPC will focus on seven core tasks: launching a consulting platform, establishing an AI academy, creating a digital innovation campus, responding to the productivity transformation, supporting national structural reforms, strengthening global networks, and innovating KPC itself. It plans to launch market-leading new growth businesses by 2027.

First, the consulting business will accelerate its transition to a platform. By building an integrated consulting platform, it will provide a one-stop service covering the entire consulting process from request to diagnosis based on AI, big data, and other technologies, expanding its business into data services, convergence consulting, and self-diagnosis.

In response to the nationwide need for AI education, KPC will establish a top-tier “AI Academy” in Korea and create an innovative on-offline campus to respond to digital transformation. For field-oriented AI training, it will operate standardized curricula based on job-specific AI utilization systems and develop specialized AI transformation (AX) courses by industrial sector linked to advanced industries.

To innovate educational infrastructure and strengthen customer contact points, a second campus will also be established. Alongside remodeling the Gwanghwamun lecture hall, the newly opened second campus will serve as the center for building next-generation educational infrastructure.

KPC will also actively focus on its original purpose by responding to productivity transformation and supporting national structural reforms. Additionally, it will strengthen consulting and policy research to support social issues such as the declining labor population and innovations in education, labor, and healthcare for future generations. It plans to actively develop human resources for fostering advanced industries such as semiconductors, mobility, hydrogen, aerospace, bio, and quantum, seeking new business opportunities.
