Life streaming platform SOOP announced its roadmap for next year, focusing on strengthening content support, improving community and features, and utilizing artificial intelligence (AI).

Choi Young-woo, SOOP Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), revealed the main plans for next year at the '2024 Streamer Awards' held on the 28th, including 'strengthening content support,' 'expanding global platforms and providing integrated services,' 'improving community and features,' and 'enhancing content creation using AI technology.'

SOOP will expand support measures for streamers next year. Plans include doubling the budget for the Content Support Center, establishing a global Content Support Center, increasing opportunities to participate in original content, and conducting large-scale campaigns.

Global expansion for streamers will also be actively pursued. CSO Choi explained, “SOOP’s services, currently operated separately on domestic and global platforms, will be integrated in the long term to strengthen global communication,” adding, “We plan to provide various technical supports such as simplifying simultaneous streaming functions, automatic translation and chat interpretation support, and linking global streaming accounts.”

To make content consumption and creation easier than before, community support and feature improvements are also being prepared. CSO Choi said, “We plan to enhance video-on-demand (VOD) search functions, expand drops linked with game companies, and increase the use of open application programming interface (API) features.”

The event also introduced plans to improve streamer and user experiences using AI technology. SOOP has already unveiled customized AI solutions for streamers and users called 'SAVVY' and 'SOOPI.'

SAVVY is a solution that generates AI videos based on the streamer’s personality and activities, providing uninterrupted content to users even when the streamer briefly steps away during a broadcast. SOOPI, developed under the concept of 'my video assistant,' enhances each user’s viewing experience by learning their content preferences and offering personalized experiences such as optimized streamer and content recommendations and replays of missed videos.

Previously, SOOP announced that it will launch 'SARSA' and 'SUMMA,' AI managers that assist streamer activities, within next year.

Seo Soo-gil, CEO of SOOP, stated, “SAVVY is a technology that creates original content based on the streamer’s personality and activities, providing new experiences for both streamers and users.”

Meanwhile, through this launch, 20 streamers and about 5,000 paid users can pilot SAVVY. In January next year, the service will expand to 100 streamers and around 20,000 fans, and by June, it will be available to all streamers and users. SOOP plans to strengthen communication between streamers and users through SAVVY and enrich the content ecosystem within the platform.
