Sahak Yeongeum Obtains Human Rights Management System Certification for the First Time

The Private School Teachers' Pension Service announced on the 27th that it had obtained the Human Rights Management System (HRMS) certification for the first time on the 23rd. HRMS is a system granted by the Korea Management Registrar (KMR) after a third-party adequacy review to verify whether the target institution has established policies and goals for human rights management and has met the requirements for systems to implement them.

Since establishing the human rights management system in 2018, Sahakyeongeum has been strengthening human rights management every year by ▲(’18) enacting the Human Rights Management Charter, ▲(’19) discovering measures to strengthen the human rights management system through external consulting, ▲(’20) receiving advice from external human rights management committee members, ▲(’21) conducting internal checklist inspections, ▲(’22) expanding the Human Rights Management Committee, and ▲(’23) promoting a joint declaration of the Human Rights Management Charter with subsidiaries.

In particular, this year, an institutional operation human rights impact assessment was conducted through an external professional organization, verifying compliance through checklist inspections and on-site audits. Regarding Sahakyeongeum’s certification acquisition, the Korea Management Registrar stated, “We positively evaluated the clear vision and values of human rights management, the establishment of the PDCA structure of the human rights management system, and the continuous strengthening of human rights management through annual monitoring.”

Song Hajung, Director of Sahakyeongeum, said, “Sahakyeongeum will continue to strive to spread a culture of respect for human rights so that it can become an institution leading awareness of human rights in the public sector.”
