The opening ceremony was attended by about 100 people, including Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, provincial and city council members, firefighters, volunteer firefighters, and related organizations.

The Muhak 119 Safety Center was established by relocating and reconstructing the Namseong 119 Safety Center located in Namseong-dong, Masanhappo-gu, through the modernization project of the Changwon City Fire Station. It was built at 564 Muhak-ro, Masanhoewon-gu, on a site area of 1,272.7㎡ and a total floor area of 990.47㎡, with two above-ground floors, at a cost of 7 billion KRW from city funds.

Main facilities include a fire truck garage, offices, fire equipment storage, waiting room, mental health stabilization room, cafeteria, fitness room, and infection control room. To respond to fire, rescue, emergency medical services, and daily safety dispatches, 20 firefighters operate fire pump trucks and ambulances.

Located on Sanbok Road, the Muhak 119 Safety Center is expected to meet the increasing demand for firefighting services due to new apartment constructions. In particular, through collaboration with the Dongbu Police Station and Masanhoewon-gu Office, the installation of traffic lights and the removal of the center line will enable two-way dispatch, significantly contributing to securing the golden time.

Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, “Through the establishment of Changwon City's safety infrastructure, we expect a much faster response and expansion of firefighting services.” He added, “We will do our best to implement various measures to thoroughly prepare for disasters.”
