Leaving behind the eventful year of 2024, a variety of sunset and sunrise events will be held in Taean, Chungnam to welcome the hopeful new year of Eulsanyeon.

On December 31, a sunset event will take place at Kkotji Beach, and on January 1, sunrise events will be held at Baekhwasan Mountain in Taean-eup and Yeonpo Beach in Geunheung-myeon. In addition, major attractions in Gonam, Wonbuk, and Iwon-myeon will also offer their own sunrise programs.

Kkotji Beach in Anmyeon-eup, renowned nationwide as one of the top three sunset spots on the west coast, will host various events such as singing contests, performances, and fireworks from 5 p.m. on December 31, organized by the Taean Peninsula Anmyeon Youth Association.

In particular, this year's Kkotji Sunset Event will feature the '2025 Taean Year of Visit Proclamation Ceremony,' including the appointment of promotional ambassadors, screening of a themed video, a proclamation performance, and congratulatory performances by Ahn Gap-seong, Na Taejoo, and Seo Young-eun, among other diverse programs.

On the morning of January 1, starting at 6 a.m., the Yeonpo Beach Prosperity Association will host a sunrise event at Yeonpo Beach in Geunheung-myeon, featuring a New Year's concert, Korean traditional dance, fireworks, and sharing of rice cake soup. As a famous spot to enjoy the sunrise over the West Sea, visitors can greet a hopeful morning on the wide-open beach.

At Baekhwasan Mountain, known as the 'true mountain of Taean,' a sunrise event organized by the Taean Junior Chamber will begin at 6:50 a.m., featuring performances, delivery of New Year's messages, and a collective New Year's shout, offering families a special experience together. The panoramic view of Garorim Bay from the summit is expected to provide tourists with unforgettable memories on the first day of the year.

In addition, sunrise events prepared by local residents will be held at Yeongmok Port in Gonam-myeon, Iwhasan Mountain in Wonbuk-myeon, and the Dangbong Observatory in Iwon-myeon, attracting the attention of both locals and tourists.

The county expects about 15,000 tourists to visit Taean over the two days of sunset and sunrise events and plans to implement a thorough response system to prevent safety accidents, ensuring that residents and visitors experience a smooth and enjoyable holiday season.

A county official said, "We will prioritize safety and thoroughly inspect all aspects of safety management in preparation for the events," adding, "We hope many people will visit Taean to wrap up the year and welcome a hopeful new year."
