Hanam-si Holds Lifelong Education Merit Award Ceremony and Discussion Meeting

Gyeonggi Hanam City (Mayor Lee Hyun-jae) held a commendation ceremony on the 24th at the Hanam City Lifelong Learning Center to honor those who have devoted themselves to the field of lifelong education throughout the year, and hosted a roundtable meeting to share the sense of accomplishment and experiences gained from participating in lifelong education over the past year.

This event was organized to recognize and encourage the efforts and achievements of those who have worked hard for the development of lifelong education.


The roundtable meeting was attended by about 70 people, including lifelong education officials, representatives of related organizations, learning managers, lifelong education talent-sharing activists, and adult literacy learners, and proceeded in the order of ▲ learner performances ▲ commendations for meritorious persons ▲ sharing of impressions ▲ lifelong learning people talk talk.


For the commendations, nine lifelong education officials who achieved outstanding results in the lifelong education field this year were selected, including ▲ lifelong education instructors for the disabled ▲ adult literacy education instructors ▲ lifelong learning village managers ▲ and practitioners at lifelong education institutions for the disabled. In addition, the excellent institutions awarded were ▲ Hanam Disabled Persons’ Independent Living Center (Hanam City Lifelong Education Activation Excellent Institution) ▲ Hanam City Youth Training Center (3rd Gyeonggi-do Lifelong Learning Award Encouragement Prize).


After the award ceremony, the attendees actively exchanged opinions by sharing their experiences on the impact of lifelong education on their lives and sharing their ideas through the roundtable meeting.


Mayor Lee Hyun-jae said, "Lifelong education is not simply the transmission of knowledge, but an important process that improves people’s quality of life and creates a sustainable society," adding, "We will continue to strive so that lifelong education can have a positive impact on society as a whole."
