The Pocheon City Council in Gyeonggi Province (Chairman Im Jong-hoon) solidified its status as an honest council by achieving a "Grade 2" in the 2024 Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation of Public Institutions conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
According to the Pocheon City Council on the 19th, this marks a consecutive Grade 2 rating following last year, recognized as the result of continuous efforts for transparent legislative activities and honest administrative processing.
Every year, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission evaluates a total of 718 public institutions, including central administrative agencies, local governments, and local councils, assessing corruption prevention and transparent management, and announces the integrity ratings of each institution by grade.
In this evaluation, the Pocheon City Council received high marks for actively listening to citizens' voices and promoting institutional improvements to strengthen integrity.
In particular, efforts to prevent corruption and enhance the effectiveness of integrity education for senior officials scored 96.6 points, an increase of 4.6 points compared to last year, and 16.2 points higher than the average for the same category.
Chairman Im Jong-hoon stated, “Our council will continue to strengthen communication with citizens, prioritize the values of integrity and fairness, and carry out transparent and responsible legislative activities that meet citizens’ expectations.” He expressed the council’s ongoing commitment to improving integrity beyond this evaluation result.
The Pocheon City Council plans to continue diagnosing vulnerable areas within the institution and analyzing various data to identify causes of insufficient results, actively discovering and implementing policies to improve them, and carrying out diverse activities to foster a culture of integrity in public service.
