The ceremony was a meaningful event to support the humanitarian activities of the Red Cross and to promote a culture of sharing in the local community, attended by about 10 people including Chairman Lim Jong-hoon, Vice Chairman Yeon Je-chang, Lee Jae-jung, President of the Gyeonggi Province branch of the Korean Red Cross, and Han Eun-sook, President of the Pocheon City District Council of the Red Cross Volunteer Association.
The Red Cross membership fee serves as an important financial foundation for social contributions in various fields such as disaster relief, safety education, and local health activities, and is carried out through voluntary participation by citizens.
Accordingly, the Pocheon City Council held this special membership fee delivery ceremony to inform citizens about the ‘2025 Red Cross Membership Fee Intensive Fundraising Period’ lasting 62 days until January 31 and to encourage active participation.
Chairman Lim Jong-hoon stated, “We will do our best to join the Red Cross activities that strive for neighbors in the most vulnerable places to further strengthen the safety net of the local community,” and added, “I hope that citizens’ support for a warm year-end will continue and become an opportunity to realize the value of sharing.”
Meanwhile, the Red Cross membership fee is part of a nationwide fundraising campaign conducted annually, sent by mail to household heads and individuals who have participated at least once in the past five years, and can be paid through financial institutions, the internet, or mobile phones.
