In Gwangju and Jeonnam, temperatures are expected to drop significantly as cold air moves southward from the north.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 17th, temperatures are expected to fall starting late at night, with rain and snow beginning mainly along the west coast of Jeonnam and expanding through the early hours of the following day.
In most areas of Gwangju and Jeonnam, less than 5mm of rain or 1 to 5cm of snow is expected on the 18th.
The morning's lowest temperatures are forecast to be -3 degrees Celsius in Naju, Damyang, Yeongam, and Hwasun; -2 degrees in Muan, Suncheon, and Yeonggwang; -1 degree in Gwangju, Gwangyang, and Haenam; 0 degrees in Mokpo and Wando; and 1 degree in Yeosu. The highest daytime temperatures are expected to be 6 degrees in Gwangyang and Wando, 5 degrees in Suncheon, Yeosu, and Haenam, 4 degrees in Mokpo, Muan, and Yeongam, and 3 degrees in Gwangju, Naju, Damyang, Yeonggwang, and Hwasun, which is lower than the previous day.
Waves in the seas are expected to reach 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the coastal waters of the South Sea and West Sea. Fine dust concentrations will remain at 'moderate' levels in Gwangju and Jeonnam until the morning, improving to 'good' levels in the afternoon.
An official from the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration said, "Morning temperatures will drop below zero, and strong winds will make it feel even colder, so please take care of your health."
