Recognized for Dedication to Youth Support Through Customized Programs and Outstanding Case Production

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) was selected as an outstanding institution at the '2024 Out-of-School Youth Support Project Reporting Conference' held on the 21st of last month, hosted by the Korea Youth Counseling and Welfare Institute.


This conference was organized for workers from out-of-school youth support centers nationwide to share this year’s project achievements and discuss the direction for next year’s project implementation.


Awarding of outstanding institutions that contributed to the development of the out-of-school youth support project was also conducted. At this event, the Gwangjin-gu Out-of-School Youth Support Center (Center Director Jung Soo-min) was selected as an outstanding institution among over 220 centers nationwide and received a commendation from the Chairman of the Korea Youth Counseling and Welfare Institute.

The Gwangjin-gu Out-of-School Youth Support Center operates various support programs to help youths who have dropped out of school return to their studies or properly settle into society.


In particular, it received high praise for providing counseling support and customized programs such as job experience tailored to the personal characteristics and situations of out-of-school youths, and for producing many excellent cases through in-depth case management.


Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “This outstanding institution selection is thanks to the dedication of the staff at the Gwangjin-gu Out-of-School Youth Support Center who strive to help out-of-school youths prepare for a bright future,” adding, “Going forward, Gwangjin-gu will continue to discover and implement various support measures together with the local community so that youths are not marginalized simply because they have dropped out of school.”
