‘Pocheon-si Gyeonggi Youth Ladder Program’ Launch Ceremony Held

Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 16th that it held the launch ceremony for the Pocheon City Gyeonggi Youth Ladder Program on the 15th at the new city hall’s administrative meeting room.

The Pocheon City Gyeonggi Youth Ladder Program is being promoted to provide overseas training and growth opportunities to the youth of Pocheon City with the goal of strengthening global competencies.

The program is commissioned and operated by the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Pyeongtaek University. Twenty-four youths from Pocheon City, selected through an open recruitment process, are scheduled to attend a three-week training at the University of Auckland in New Zealand from January 3 to January 25, 2025.

At the launch ceremony, Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon City, related officials, participants of the Pocheon City Gyeonggi Youth Ladder Program, and representatives from the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Pyeongtaek University attended. The event included congratulatory speeches, viewing of participant videos, an oath-taking ceremony, and a session where participants expressed their aspirations for the overseas training.

A program participant said, “I sincerely thank Pocheon City for giving me the opportunity for overseas training,” and added, “Based on the experience gained through this Pocheon City Gyeonggi Youth Ladder Program, I will grow into a global leader who promotes Pocheon.”

Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon City stated, “This will be an opportunity for Pocheon’s youth to gain confidence, take on challenges, and grow on the global stage,” and added, “I hope many young people use this as a stepping stone to become talents who bring honor to Pocheon.”
