Press Conference at the National Assembly on the 15th
The Party for National Innovation expressed its welcome and intention to participate in the National Stability Council proposed by Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, on the 15th.
Kim Seon-min, acting leader, held a press conference at the National Assembly on the same day and said, "We must save the ship of the Republic of Korea in crisis," adding, "The proposal by Leader Lee to form the National Stability Council is very appropriate. The Innovation Party will actively participate in this council."
Regarding the passage of the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-youl at the National Assembly the previous day, Acting Leader Kim evaluated, "The impeachment motion was passed 299 days after former leader Cho Guk called for the early resignation of the president," and said, "The approval of the impeachment motion is a signal for the restoration of democracy."
He then warned Acting Prime Minister Han Deok-soo not to exercise the right to request reconsideration. The acting leader emphasized, "The duties of (Acting Prime Minister Han) should be limited to 'stable management of state affairs,'" and added, "He must not even dream of exercising the veto power."
Assemblyman Shin Jang-sik said, "Legally, neither an acting leader nor an acting official can change the status quo," and added, "We fundamentally have doubts about whether it is appropriate for a suspect accused of aiding and abetting treason to be in the position of acting leader."
