Small Business Federation to Announce Impeachment Statement on the 15th
"It Is Time to Remove Economic Uncertainty"
Small business owners emphasized that "the political sphere must engage in bipartisan cooperation to revive the economy" in relation to the National Assembly's approval of the presidential impeachment motion.
The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (KSMB) stated in a press release on the 15th, "We respect the decision of the National Assembly and leave the subsequent procedures to the Constitutional Court's judgment. Now, we urge the political sphere to cooperate across party lines and fully commit to reviving the economy."
The KSMB pointed out, "It is now time to eliminate economic uncertainties," adding, "Due to recent events, cancellations of reservations and reduced consumption have pushed the already struggling small business owners into an extreme crisis, with no year-end sales boom in sight."
Furthermore, the KSMB said, "According to an emergency survey conducted on December 12th targeting 1,630 general small business owners, 88.4% nationwide reported a decrease in sales due to the current situation," and added, "Now that the situation has shifted, we earnestly ask the public to visit small business stores that brighten the streets with confidence."
In addition, the KSMB stated, "The political sphere should promptly form a consultative body among the ruling party, opposition parties, and the government to stabilize the economy and people's livelihoods," and said, "We hope that representatives of small business owners will participate in the consultation process to establish a genuine economic and livelihood control tower, so that all economic actors can pool their wisdom to overcome this emergency economic situation."
