"Hoping the Hands Holding Lightsticks Feel Even a Little Warmer"
On the 14th, alongside the vote on the impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-yeol, a large-scale rally will be held, and singer IU's side announced that they have prepared food and hand warmers for those participating in the rally.
IU's agency, Edam Entertainment, announced the prepayment for rally participants through the official fan cafe on the 13th. They stated, "We prepared food and hand warmers hoping that the cold hands of Uaena (the fandom name), who are holding IKE (IU's light stick) and brightly illuminating the surroundings at the rally in cold weather, will be a little warmer," adding, "Please take care of your health and safety, and refer to the following information before visiting the designated stores."

According to the provided information, IU's side has prepaid for various foods at a total of five locations near the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, where the rally will be held, including bakeries, rice cake shops, and beef soup restaurants. The available menu items and quantities for pickup include bread, rice cakes, coffee, citron tea, Sikhye, beef soup, and miso beef soup, totaling 700 items. The agency explained, "This will be available from the 14th until supplies run out. Please check the pickup times at each store before visiting," and added, "Even if you are not a member of the official fan club Uaena, if you are participating in the rally, you can receive food (or drinks) and hand warmers on a first-come, first-served basis. Please say 'Uaena' inside the store."
Earlier, the MZ generation participated in the rally holding the light sticks of the singers they support and shouted "Impeach Yoon Suk-yeol." They have been praised for creating a new rally culture by holding LED light sticks instead of candles and singing K-pop songs. On the 8th, the British BBC reported, "When the organizers played K-pop, the crowd started dancing and singing while waving colorful light sticks," adding, "Suddenly, the rally turned into an enjoyable pop concert."
Meanwhile, the large-scale rally urging President Yoon's impeachment will be held from 1 p.m. on the 14th at various locations near the National Assembly, including Uisadang-daero, Yeoui Park-ro, and Eunhaeng-ro. The number of participants reported to the police is about 200,000. A police official said, "Traffic congestion is expected in the downtown and Yeouido areas," and urged, "Please use public transportation such as the subway as much as possible, and if you use a vehicle, check traffic information in advance."
