Free Trial Operation from the 23rd, Paid Service Starting January Next Year
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 13th that it has completed the construction of Todang No. 1 Public Parking Lot in the area of Todang-dong 858, which has suffered from chronic parking difficulties due to densely populated residential areas.
Todang No. 1 Public Parking Lot consists of a total of 70 parking spaces, including 3 for the disabled, 4 for compact cars, 4 for electric vehicles, and 59 expanded spaces. To improve the urban environment, shrubs were planted and the pavement was made with grass blocks, creating an eco-friendly parking lot.
Entrusted to Goyang Urban Management Corporation, the parking lot will be operated free of charge on a trial basis starting from the 23rd, and from January next year, it will be operated as a paid service from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends and public holidays.
Parking fees will be charged according to the "Goyang City Parking Lot Installation and Management Ordinance" at the rate for Off-street Grade 2 areas: 500 KRW for the first 30 minutes, 100 KRW for every 5 minutes thereafter, and 6,000 KRW per day.
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang Special City stated, “The establishment of this parking lot is expected to help alleviate parking difficulties in the densely populated Todang-dong area and revitalize the Neunggok Market commercial district. We will continue to create eco-friendly parking lots that harmonize with the surrounding environment to solve parking problems in the city center.”
