"Sad About School Wounds Due to External Factors"
Jeong Geun-sik, Superintendent of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, visited Chungam High School on the 12th, which has been unfairly criticized simply because it is President Yoon Seok-yeol's alma mater, to comfort students and staff and announced plans to establish countermeasures.
On the same day, Superintendent Jeong met with the principal, vice principal, school officials of Chungam High School in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, and officials from the Western Education Support Office, saying, "It is very regrettable that the school is being hurt due to external factors."

He added, "Although the political situation has not yet stabilized, I extend my deep condolences to the staff and students who are suffering."
Superintendent Jeong said, "Students must be protected from external dangers," and added, "I think it is fortunate that the school is making efforts in various ways. I hope they will do their best to stabilize the school going forward."
As public criticism against the so-called 'Chungam High School line,' alumni of this school, spread due to the emergency martial law situation, the school was flooded with hundreds of protest calls, and there were even sarcastic demands to rename the school to 'Martial Law High School,' causing distress to both students and staff.
In response, the school allowed current students to wear casual clothes instead of uniforms until February next year and requested the police to strengthen patrols during school commute times.
Superintendent Jeong ordered the school to ▲ install a permanent reporting box ▲ establish a rapid response hotline ▲ prepare systematic countermeasures for the safety of students and staff.
He also suggested that the Western Education Support Office operate programs for students' psychological healing.
Furthermore, anticipating that students might participate in weekend rallies condemning the 'December 3 Emergency Martial Law Incident,' he announced plans to operate an emergency response team to prepare safety measures at the education office level.
