'Cherished Like You' · 'Busan-style Integrated Neulbom Where the Whole Village Spends All Day Together'
Mayor Park Hyung-jun, "We Will Create a Busan That Is Good for Raising and Educating Children"
Busan City won the "Excellence Award" in the metropolitan local government category of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 'Best Practices in Linkage and Cooperation with Neulbom Schools for Local Governments' contest, securing a special grant of 200 million KRW.
This contest, launched for the first time to support the successful establishment of Neulbom Schools, which began in earnest this year, was designed to strengthen cooperation between local governments and education (support) offices and to discover and spread cases of region-specific Neulbom School cooperation models tailored to local conditions and demands.
A total of 46 metropolitan and basic local governments nationwide participated in this contest. After the first round of document screening, 22 local governments (5 metropolitan and 17 basic) were selected, and in November, a presentation evaluation was conducted, ultimately selecting 18 award-winning institutions (3 metropolitan and 15 basic).
In this contest, the city submitted "Busan-type Integrated Neulbom with the Whole Village Together All Day," based on "Dangsincheoreom Aejijujji," a basic care system where the public takes responsibility for all children until elementary school graduation, announced in January this year, detailing the cooperation process between the city and the local community and its major achievements.

"Dangsincheoreom Aejijujji" is a Busan-type care and education policy brand that operates a Busan-specific program providing seamless care anytime and anywhere through cooperation among the city, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, 16 districts and counties, and 22 universities, significantly reducing parents' burdens and discovering children's aptitudes.
To establish a seamless care and high-quality education system, the city has successfully settled the Busan-type integrated Neulbom model through various social collaborations, including not only the city education office but also local universities.
In particular, the city was the first in the nation to announce a Neulbom School cooperation plan, and the opening of the 'Myeongji Neulbom Dedicated School,' an excellent cooperation model between local governments and education offices in September, received high scores from the judges in this contest.

Mayor Park Hyung-jun said, "From next year, the 'Neulbom School' will be expanded to cover up to the third grade of elementary school so that more of our children can benefit," adding, "To ensure the stable establishment and expansion of 'Neulbom School,' the city and the city education office will actively communicate and cooperate to create a 'Busan that is good for raising children and education.'"
