Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 9th that it held the ‘2024 Dream Start Graduation Celebration’ event for 6th-grade children in Dream Start on the 7th.

This event was attended by 60 6th-grade elementary school children and their families who are concluding Dream Start services.
The first part took place at ‘Ashley Queens Gyeongan Branch’ with a graduation celebration dinner, and the second part was held at ‘Seongnam Arts Center’ with a Christmas carol musical viewing.
A single parent who participated in the event shared, “Thanks to Dream Start services, my child was able to happily finish elementary school life, and it was a great support for my child to nurture dreams for the future.”
An official from Gwangju City said, “We organized the graduation celebration event to support and congratulate Dream Start children who have grown properly and are becoming respectable middle school students despite difficult circumstances,” adding, “We will continue to discover various welfare services for vulnerable children to realize ‘Hopeful Change, Happy City Gwangju.’”
Meanwhile, the city operates ‘Dream Start,’ which focuses on case management for vulnerable children aged 0 to under 12 years old, and runs customized programs that promote holistic development in physical, cognitive, emotional, and caregiving environments for children.
