Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation Holds Workshop to Strengthen Employment Support Capabilities for Baby Boomers

The Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation held a capacity-building workshop over two days, on the 5th and 6th, at Sky Bay Gyeongpo in Gangneung City to strengthen support for middle-aged and senior employment within the province.

This workshop was organized to enhance the metropolitan functions of the Gyeonggi-do Baby Boomer Job Opportunity Center and to increase expertise in baby boomer employment support projects. About 50 participants attended, including practitioners and responsible officials from life re-challenge support centers, Happiness Campus, Women New Work Centers, and Middle-aged Tomorrow Centers, which are employment support institutions for middle-aged and senior citizens in cities and counties.

During the workshop, achievements of this year's middle-aged and senior employment support institution operations were shared, along with introductions to new projects for next year, such as the 'Baby Boomer Light Job' and 'Baby Boomer Internship' programs.

The Baby Boomer Light Job project provides flexible work opportunities of 24 to 35 hours per week targeted at the middle-aged and senior population. The Baby Boomer Internship project alleviates companies' labor cost burdens to offer stable job opportunities. Both projects focus on supporting the baby boomer generation to continue sustainable and flexible economic activities.

Yoon Deok-ryong, CEO of the Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation, stated, "I hope this workshop serves as an important opportunity to seek practical alternatives and cooperation measures to solve middle-aged and senior employment issues in the province," adding, "We will do our best to support the sustainable economic activities of the baby boomer generation."
