Mayor Hong Nampyo: "Leading the Practice of Sharing and Volunteering
Striving to Ensure Citizens Take Pride"
On the 6th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam delivered a special Red Cross membership fee of 3 million won to the Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Red Cross at the city hall reception room, conveying the spirit of sharing.
This delivery ceremony was held to announce the start of the 2025 Red Cross membership fee fundraising campaign and to encourage citizen participation.
The delivered special membership fee will be used for humanitarian activities of the Korean Red Cross, such as supporting vulnerable groups and multicultural families in the local community, and emergency relief activities in case of domestic and overseas disasters.
Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, “We ask for active participation in the Red Cross membership fee fundraising so that the culture of donation spreads throughout the city and warmth can be delivered to every corner of the community,” adding, “The city will strive to ensure that citizens who take the lead in practicing sharing and volunteering can take pride in their efforts.”
The 2025 Red Cross membership fee period is from December 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, and payments can also be made voluntarily outside this period. Payment methods include paying the recommended amount at financial institutions using the giro slip directly distributed to each household head, or making payments via the internet or mobile simple payment services. Additionally, individuals can receive tax deduction benefits during year-end tax settlement.
