Ulju-gun was honored with the award in recognition of its efforts to spread the culture of volunteerism, achieving a 20.57% increase in volunteer activities over the past year among the five districts and counties of Ulsan City.

Previously, Ulju-gun actively supported the operation and project budget of the Ulju-gun Volunteer Center to expand and revitalize volunteer infrastructure.

Through the Ulju-gun Volunteer Center, they recruited dormant and new volunteers to promote quantitative growth, and achieved qualitative growth by increasing participation rates through continuous volunteer education, program guidance, and activity encouragement.

In particular, reflecting Ulju-gun’s geographical characteristics, they operated four volunteer center hubs called Gonggam Nuriteo to connect volunteer activities and build a community care system.

Additionally, the professional volunteer group council conducted integrated village activities, visiting every corner of Ulju-gun to carry out volunteer work. Volunteers were linked to various fields such as home repair projects, caring for companion animals for elderly living alone, preparing birthday tables, autumn outings for elderly living alone, and promoting recycling and upcycling environmental campaigns, contributing to the enhancement of local welfare.

County Governor Lee Soon-geol said, “Thanks to volunteers who personally practice sharing warmth throughout our society, the residents of Ulju-gun have been able to be happy, and we have received great help in various welfare projects promoted by Ulju-gun,” adding, “We will continue to strive to create conditions where volunteers can consistently be active and share happiness together.”
