Vision Presented for 'Data-Driven Future City Yeosu'
Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) held a "Smart City Planning Service Completion Report Meeting" on the morning of the 5th to concretize plans for establishing a citizen-experience-oriented urban plan utilizing future-oriented advanced technologies.
The "Smart City Plan" is a statutory plan that outlines the direction for creating a smart city over five years until 2029. The city presented the vision of "Data-driven Sustainable Future-oriented Smart City Yeosu."

At the report meeting, about 30 people, including Vice Mayor Choi Jeong-gi, members of the Yeosu Smart City Project Council, and related officials, gathered to discuss various opinions on establishing the smart city plan.
The main topics included ▲Analysis of the current status and utilization cases of smart cities ▲Annual implementation plans linked with central government smart city promotion strategies ▲Direction for plan implementation ▲Smart city development directions through spatial composition linked with smart city living zones and phased national subsidy projects.
Previously, the city selected 18 smart city services across 8 sectors reflecting regional characteristics through internal and external environment analysis, citizen surveys, big data complaint analysis, department interviews, expert helpdesk operations, and advisory committee Q&A.
Vice Mayor Choi Jeong-gi stated, "The smart city plan will play a pivotal role as a mid- to long-term development plan for creating an advanced city," adding, "We expect Yeosu to rise as a leading city in the smart era, where all citizens enjoy a convenient and happy life."
