Guro-gu Selected as an Excellent Administrative Institution for '2024 Public Officials Labor-Management Culture' by Ministry of the Interior and Safety...The Only Autonomous District in Seoul

Promotion of Various Labor-Management Cooperation Projects Including No-Wait Free Pass Union Meetings and Anonymous Communication Channels with Deputy District Mayor

Guro-gu, together with the Public Officials Labor Union, was the only district among the 25 autonomous districts of Seoul to be selected as an Excellent Administrative Institution at the '2024 Public Officials Labor-Management Culture Excellent Administrative Institution Certification' evaluation held on the 4th at the Government Sejong Complex.


The 'Public Officials Labor-Management Culture Excellent Administrative Institution Certification' is a system established by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety since 2010 to discover and award excellent administrative institutions nationwide, including central government, metropolitan local governments, education offices, and basic local governments, for fostering sound labor-management relations and establishing a cooperative labor-management culture.


At the awards ceremony, 14 institutions including Guro-gu were selected as excellent administrative institutions, and Guro-gu received the certificate and certification plaque for the first time this year.

To establish a desirable labor-management culture, the district implemented various labor-management cooperation projects such as ▲no-wait free pass union interviews ▲anonymous communication channel with the deputy mayor ▲face-to-face approval reservation system ▲friendly yutnori games among labor, management, and government officials.


Additionally, the district encouraged the culture of employees and executives paying separately during meals, and made efforts to resolve intergenerational conflicts by refraining from sending gifts like potted plants during promotions or transfers and prohibiting power harassment within the organization.


A Guro-gu official stated, "We will continue to work together with the labor union to play a leading role in establishing not only sound labor-management relations through active communication and cooperation but also a healthy and innovative public officials labor-management culture."


In individual awards, Lee Myung-jin, team leader of the Welfare Labor Team at Guro-gu Office, received the Presidential Citation, and Kim Min-seok, officer of the Guro-gu Public Officials Labor Union, received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Citation.
