Gyeonggi Province held a performance sharing meeting for this year’s ‘Small Library’ cooperation support project on the 4th at the Siheung Workers' Comprehensive Welfare Center.
Small libraries are libraries established to provide local residents with knowledge, information, and various cultures. Although smaller in scale compared to public libraries, they are characterized by offering closer access to books.
The performance sharing meeting on this day was an occasion to share the achievements of the ‘2024 Small Library Cooperation Support Project,’ which was promoted to build networks and mutual cooperation among small libraries,
and was prepared with various programs such as presentations of best practices, exhibition of achievements, picture book readings, and performances.

The presentations of best practices were divided by project into ‘Small Library Operation Mentoring’ and ‘Specialized Program Operation.’
Park Min-kyung, Director of the Library Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "I hope this performance sharing meeting will serve as an opportunity for small libraries in the province to cooperate more actively and establish themselves as centers of local culture."
Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Province is carrying out various projects not only for the Small Library Cooperation Support Project but also for small library operation support, small library childcare reading culture program support, and small library activist education to revitalize small libraries.
